The Charter Boat
Our charter fishing boat KINGFISHER is a 33ft Starfish fitted with a 350HP Ford Sabre turbo engine. The design of the charter fishing boat KINGFISHER provides a comfortable ride and a speed of up to 18 knots. Being sea kindly KINGFISHER rides well both at anchor and whilst drifting over the wrecks. KINGFISHER has plenty of deck space for up to twelve sea anglers and their fishing tackle. To ensure we fish the correct marks, our charter fishing boat KINGFISHER is fitted with the latest navigation equipment including: Koden colour fish finder, Lawrence GPS and plotter, Leica GPS and plotter, Furuno GPS and plotter.
Our East Sussex Newhaven charter fishing boat KINGFISHER is licensed for up to 60 miles and has all the safety equipment needed including: Koden radar, 2 fixed VHF radios plus 1 portable, Lifejackets and liferaft, Flares and much more.
On those cold winter days our charter fishing boat KINGFISHER has a cabin heater to revive your cold hands and we provide hot drinks free of charge. For the summer Bass fishing, KINGFISHER is equipped with a Live Bait Tank.
Newhaven, East Sussex - Near Brighton Marina
NEWHAVEN in East Sussex is a busy fishing, boat building and light industry centre. It’s a great place to charter a sea fishing boat. Within a short distance of the shore there are a huge number of wrecks which hold a wide range of fish such as Cod, Pollock, Bass, Conger Eel, Tope, Smoothound and Black Bream. Close by you will find Rays, Monk Fish and many other species. You may even come across the odd Shark.
The Charter Skipper
John is the proud owner and skipper of the East Sussex Newhaven charter fishing boat KINGFISHER. He has been sea fishing, fly fishing and coarse fishing for over 50 years and has been lucky enough to turn his hobby into a living!
Skipper John has an RYA Yachtmaster Offshore certificate that has been commercially endorsed, an RYA Powerboat Advanced Certificate and also holds First Aid, Sea Survival and Marine VHF radio certificates.
John is a keen sea angler and his favourite species is the legendary Bass. His personal best to date being a magnificent 10 ½ lbs! He is just as happy exploring the prolific number of wrecks in the area hunting for huge Cod, Conger and Pollock. He feels equally at home when ground or reef fishing. John enjoys helping beginners, juniors, senior citizens and ladies. He also delighted to learn new things from experienced saltwater anglers!
